Bishop Lanford Gregory
Former Presiding Bishop of Beulah Apostolic Church UK

Bishop Lanford Gregory

1938-2023

The Leaders of the Beulah Apostolic Church UK are deeply saddened to announce the news that Bishop Emeritus Lanford Gregory was called by our Lord into eternal rest on Sunday 12th February 2023.

This veteran soldier of the Apostolic Faith was converted at the young age of 19 years and walked faithfully with God for over 65 years. He succeeded former Presiding Bishop R.G. Anderson as General Overseer of the Beulah Churches in April 1994, and served in this role until his consecration to the sacred office of Presiding Bishop in August 2000.

Bishop Gregory continued to serve in this office up until April 2022 when due to failing health he presided over the transfer of this office to his successor. He was bestowed the honorary title ‘Bishop Emeritus’ for his many years of faithful service to the Body of Christ, and as a sign of the love and high esteem in which he was held by the Beulah Church where he had been a member since 1960.

Bishop Gregory served numerous Churches, both in the UK and overseas as a divinely gifted teacher, and anointed preacher and a Father of the gospel. Over his very long life of dedication to the Beulah Churches, our Bishop worked in a variety of offices including that of Youth President, Minister, Musician, Ordained Elder, Evangelist, Church Planter, Pastor, District Elder, General Overseer, Presiding Bishop, and lastly Bishop Emeritus. However, despite holding all these offices, he remained God’s humble servant, with the support of his devoted and beloved wife Mother Sybil Gregory by his side. With the loss of Mother Gregory, and failing health in recent years, our Bishop remained greatly loved and widely respected by all who knew him and had observed the outstanding life he lived.

As we reflect upon the great life of service, dedication and humility of our Spiritual Father, our thoughts and prayers are with his family who are grieving his loss at this time.
In the coming days the Beulah Church hopes to publish updates as to how God’s faithful servant will be honoured and celebrated.
