Let’s dive deeper and introduce you to some of our former saints and pioneers who led the way.
2 Chronicles 20:12
“O our God, wilt thou not judge them? for we have no might against this great company that cometh against us; neither know we what to do: but our eyes are upon thee.”
This was one of Pastor Dawkins’ favourite Bible verses.
The late Pastor Sydney Dawkins became a Christian in 1980, through the influence of his wife. He moved through the ranks from Brother to Minister to Elder. By 2001, he was the Pastor of the Edmonton branch, until his illness in 2019, when he transferred pastoral lead to Minister Kay. Pastor Dawkins was BAC’s National Men’s President; he developed work projects engaging men in serving the Church family using their practical skills as tradesmen, which led to many wonderful outcomes. He is a man sorely missed: as a husband, father, leader, and dear friend.
Revelation 14:13
“And I heard a voice from heaven saying unto me, Write, Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.” (KJV)
The late Bishop Lanford Gregory was the former Pastor of the Tottenham branch before it relocated to Edmonton. Both he and Pastor Dawkins worked together as Telecommunication Engineers. Under his leadership, Kay Dawkins merited her appointment as the 1st female Minister at Beulah.
The late Mother Sybil Gregory was a well-loved wife, mother, and faithful servant to God and the Church. Interestingly, she used to work with Mother Dawkins, and through her invitation to Church, Mother Dawkins converted to the Apostolic faith and they developed a lifelong friendship.
Psalms 23:6
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever.” (KJV)
The late and beloved Mother Maizie was the eldest member of the BAC Edmonton Church before she passed away. During her twenty years with us, Mother Maizie set a fine example through her loyalty, support, and faithful long service.
